Introducing Tarzana Chiropractor Dr. Sal

Starting from the time I was a toddler, I remember my family calling me 'Dr. Sal'. I didn't really know what that meant initially, but somehow I grew up wanting to be a doctor so I could help people. One day, I had a life changing experience, which led me to where I am today. In 1984, an automobile accident left me with debilitating headaches and migraines, which occurred frequently and lasted for what seemed to be a lifetime. I had no energy, and started to get allergies. I saw several doctors and tried many medications, none of which provided lasting relief. No matter what, the pain always came back and I began to think I would have to live the rest of my life with headaches, fatigue and lack of energy. Finally, someone asked me if I had tried chiropractic. I hadn't even thought of trying chiropractic for headaches, but I was willing to do just about anything. After just one adjustment, I felt some relief. And by about the 10th adjustment, my headaches were almost completely gone and I started to get my energy and my life back! Chiropractic saved my life!
That was the day I decided to dedicate my life to changing other people's lives through the power of chiropractic.

As a chiropractor serving Tarzana and the Valley communities since 1990, I have helped people of all ages not only with neck and back problems, but more importantly with achieving optimal performance, overall health and complete well being.
Chiropractic helps with many health issues besides musculo-skeletal conditions. We put great emphasis on the nervous system and the immune system, because the nervous system is the master control of all other systems of your body, controlling and coordinating all of its functions. Your nervous system controls all your organs and every cell and function of your body, including heartbeat, breathing, digestion, and even the ability to fight disease. Because we live our lives through our nervous system, everything we have done from the day we were born until this very moment has been through the nervous system.
Negative stress in life, whether chemical, mechanical, or emotional, can cause spinal misalignment and disturbance in nerve function. These disturbances are called vertebral subluxations and, similar to tooth decay, subluxations do not cause pain. The reason chiropractors are concerned with subluxations is because they are a sign that your body and mind are under stress and cannot function optimally, leading to many other health problems. As a chiropractor, I remove these interferences so that your nervous system can function optimally.

I especially love working with children.
When children are growing and developing, it is crucial that their nervous system functions optimally. A healthy nervous system insures that kids have a healthy and strong immune system! Parents who bring their kids in for regular chiropractic care report fewer ear infections, fewer colds, improved digestion and overall better health, with far fewer missed school days. Since kids also live their lives through their nervous system, it's important that they are free from spinal subluxations, especially while their genetic developmental windows are still open.
